I hope that everyone is finished or almost finished all their assignments/midterms. We have our last showing of the term on the 27th of November. Interestingly, we are still around the same area that we usually are: we are going to be in CNH 102 for this showing. I hope that I will see all of you there. =)

Lots of great prizes for the trivia contest, so look forward to it! We also have another icebreaker going on during the break.

If you'd like to sing for the karaoke contest next showing, sign ups will be this on the 8th. You can either choose your own mp3 or one off of the anime club's list (of over 800!)

Basic rules are:
1. No more than two people singing one song,
2. no song over 5 1/2 minutes,
3. the song must be by Japanese music artist/band; it can be from an anime but this isn't a requirement
OR you can sing a song from another country, providing the language of singing is Japanese (there are many Korean options under this umbrella. For example any of Rain's Japanese singles)

Konbonwa one and all, as the new anime club year dawns upon us.

Our first showing is officially going to be Friday September 28th in KTH/B135

Our schedule for the first showing is as follows:

5:00-5:45 - Full Metal Panic 1-2

DINNER BREAK
If you have a full year pass you have the chance to win some awesome prizes in our Super Mega Fun Raffle

8:05-9:45 - Girl Who Leapt Through Time
9:45-10:55 - Fate/Stay Night 1-3
10:55-11:40 - Kaleido Star 1-2

The first showing is FREE so you have nothing to lose.

During the super mega fun raffle we will be giving away lots big prizes like DVDs and mangas. This raffle is open to full year members, so if interested be sure to buy your pass before or at the beginning of dinner break.

A smaller raffle will also be held which all members can enter simply by attending this free function.

If you're interested in a membership the cost is $15 for a full year or $5 for two showings

During the Dinner Break we have pizza and pop available. The first showing special price is 75 cents for a can of pop, $1.25 for a slice of pizza.

Anime Club 2007-2008

The school year is once again freshly upon us. With it comes the prospect of more anime, more contests, more prizes and tons of fun!

A giant thankyou from OSAMU for everyone who made it out to clubsfest this year. We had a great time and hope to see you at our showings.

The precise date for the first showing is currently unknown, however the tentative date is September 26th. Remember that the first showing is free, so there's nothing to lose.

We'll keep you posted about the showing time via this livejournal and our lovely mailing list. A facebook group will also be emerging on the web shortly. Keep an eye out for it.

Our tentative lineup for the first showing includes:

I've also recently acquired a wide array of Arashi instrumental songs. If you're interested in one, then inquire at the email address written several times below.

The rules are as follows:

1. Please submit your name and song selection by next showing [this Friday March 2, 2006]. You can either submit your name/song to one of the execs at the next showing, OR email me your selection at universe_goddess@hotmail.com
OR leave that information in the comments of this entry.

2. If the mp3 you choose is not on the club's anime karaoke list, then you have to provide a karaoke copy of the song. In that case you have until Sunday March 4, 2006 to send me your song (universe_goddess@hotmail.com). Failure to do so will lead to lack of participation.

3. Any anime, j-pop or j-rock song is free to perform.

4. Songs must be under 5 1/2 minutes long. In otherwords most X-Japan songs are out.

Otherwise, good luck! Keep in mind we will be looking for showmanship/pronounciation/singing skill, but that essentially this is a contest for fun!

Hi all! Hope you enjoyed the first showing of 2007! Let us know what you thought of all our shows, per usual.

This term’s showing dates are as follows: February 9th, March 2nd, March 16th and March 30th.

We're doing a group registration for Anime North. If you wish to be part of that, it's $35 ($17.50 for children 6-13 years of age) for the whole weekend (May 25-27, 2007). More info on what Anime North is available here. Come talk to us outside the showing to sign up. You can pay by cash or cheque (payable to McMaster OSAMU Club). We'll be taking money at our next two showings (Feb 9th and Mar 2nd) and that'll be it after that. If you know any person who isn't part of OSAMU, but is interested in being part of the group registration for Anime North, that is not a problem.

Just so you know, we will begin to take Anime North group pre-registrations at this showing. It is $35 for the weekend pass. More info about the convention itself will be discussed at the showing. We will also be taking money for the next couple of showings as well so no worries about committing immediately.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say thank you for coming out this term and supporting us and enjoying the anime! We've had some highs and some lows (pizza, ARG) but it's always been a blast.

We will definitely be back in second term, dates to be announced when available.

As always, we welcome your feedback. As well, if you are interested in doing a group registration for Anime North, let us know. This isn't putting you down as a commitment, but rather, just to see the interest in organizing such a thing.

So once again, thank you all and see you in the new year. :D

Final Showing of the Term!

Hello~

This will be the last showing for the term, but we'll have some new surprises for 2nd term! Our special event for this night is a trivia contest. And if you notice the schedule, we have replaced Jyu Oh Sei with Death Note - Yay! (or Boo?). The other special feature is an anime called "Read or Die" (don't you think it's the perfect title? considering that it's near exams?). It's a set of 3 OVAs and that's all there is to it.

Also, for this showing, -- 1up games -- will be available during the whole break selling video games and even DVDs. Be sure to come!

Trivia Contest

During the near-end of our break, we are holding a trivia contest so don't forget! Anyone can participate. The questions will consist of a mixture of images and word answers. That's all I'll say - the rest is a surprise~
